Locating a Proposed Policy

Locating a proposed policy on a topic can be easy or it may take some time.

Policies may not have the word policy in their name. Instead it might be a law at the federal or state level or an agency regulation.

The easiest way to find a proposed policy is to check the proposed legislation.

Locating White Papers

Search Google for White papers on social work issues by entering the terms like in the example below.

white paper and health care

Keep in mind that white papers are designed to provide research supporting and opposing issues. They are a good source for what the issues are with a policy area and they also propose solutions.

Be careful to remember that the information in the white papers can be biased.
