More Quick Fixes

In many cases, users have had success with one or more of the following simple fixes:↔

◊ Exit your browser, wait a bit, and try again. (Some databases limit the number of simultaneous users. You may be able to get in when someone else logs off.)

    Business Research Databases

    These databases offer full text articles and/or citations to articles in the biological sciences.

    Business Source Complete

       Business Source Complete is the industry's most used scholarly business database for full-text business publications.  Content includes full-text    journals, company profiles, country reports, industry reports, and SWOT analyses.  Indexing and abstracts for the many scholarly business journals date    back as far as 1886.

    EconLit with Full Text

       An excelent resource for references to econmic literature.  EconLit contains full text for hundred of journals, including the American Economic    Association Journals as well as many non-Englush full-text journals in economics and finance.  In addition, the database is a reliable source of    citations and abstracts to economic research dating back to 1969.

    The Wall Street Journal   

       One of the most authoritiative and respected sources for global and national business reporting.

    Value Line Investment Survey

       The Value Line Investment Survey serves as a comprehensive, multifaceted investment management solution offering richly detailed financial data,    objective analysis, price and market predictions, analytic tools and commentary.

    Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage

       NetAdvantage is a comprehensive source of business and investment information that offers online access to Standard & Poor's research-related    products such as industry surveys, stock reports, corporation records, mutual fund reports, and more.

    Academic Search Complete

       Designed for academic institutions, this database provides complete coverage of multidisciplinary, full-text academic journals.  The capacity of content    within this resource fully supports scholarly research in the key areas of academic study by providing peer-reviewed journals, full-text periodicals,    reports, books, and much more.

    Troubleshooting Checklist

    Username & Password:

    Make sure you are using your LEA Username and Password (Alpha-numeric, case-sensitive)

    Browser Settings

    Enable Cookies

    Internet Explorer Icon Internet Explorer 6.0 +

    1. Click Tools
    2. Choose Internet Options
    3. Choose Privacy tab
    4. Under Settings, move the slider to the bottom to accept all cookies
      Firefox Icon Firefox
      1. Go to the Friefox drop-down menu
      2. Select Perferences 
      3. Click Privacy
      4. Select "Firefox Will:" to use custom settings fo history.
      5. Check the box next to "Accept cookies from sites" to enable cookies
      6. Click OK.
                   Google Chrome Icon Chrome
          1. In the top-right corner of Chrome, click the Chrome menu Chrome Menu Icon  and select Settings 
          2. At the bottom of the page, click Show advanced settings 
          3. In the "Privacy" section, click the Content settings button.
          4. In the "Cookies" section, choose your preferred setting.                                               
          Enable JavaScript
          • Internet Explorer 6.0 +
            • Click Tools > Internet Options > Security tab
            • Locate the Custom area of the Security tab, and click the Custom Level button.
            • From the Security Settings dialog that opens, scroll through the options until you see Scripting.
            • Check the radio buttons next to Enable Active Scripting and Scripting of Java Applets.
            • Click OK to accept scripting and close the Security Settings window
            • From the Internet Options dialog, click Apply to effect settings then OK to close the dialog.
          • Firefox
            • In the address bar, type about:config and press Enter.
            • Click "I'll be careful, I promise" if a warning message appears
            • In the search box, search for javascript.enabled
            • To disable JavaScript: Toggle the "javascript.enabled" preference (right-click and select "Toggle" or double click the preference) to change the value from "true" to false.
            • To re-enable Javascript: Toggle the "javascript.enabled" preference to change the value back to "true," which is the default setting.
          • Chrome 
            • In the top-right corner of Chrome, click the Chrome menu Chrome Menu Icon  and select Settings
            • At the bottom, click Show advanced settings
            • Under "Privacy," click the Content settings button. 
            • Scroll down to "Javascript." and make sure the radio button for "Allow all sites to run Javascript (recommended)" is checked
            • Click done to save the changes

           Workplace Computers (Firewalls)

          Many workplaces, such as schools, have special firewalls and other security software that may block access to the library's proxy server. If you don't have administrator priveleges on your workplace computer, you will need to consult your system administrator or IT department to change the firewall settings.
