Adding Information Literacy–Core Links to an LMS

Links to the Credo Information Literacy Core tutorials can be added to your Blackboard course. Students will be able to access the material directly from Blackboard, with no need for any extra log-in information. When they take a test or quiz via the Blackboard, their grade will sync directly to the gradebook.

If you wish to include Credo tutorials in your class fill an instruction request for asynchronous instruction and indicate what you would like to students to learn -  A librarian will provide you with the links for the content items.  You can add them to your Blackboard course following the simple steps depicted below.

Step 1 : In your course, select Content from the left-hand course navigation (or whatever link you house your course content in).

From Blackboard click the Content link

Step 2: Once in the module/week/session you want to assign the tutorial to, Click on Build Content, then select Web Link.

Click build content then select web link

Step 3: Fill in the following settings, then click Submit:

  • Name: Enter a name for your item
  • URL: Add the LTI link for the Credo content item you wish to use. LTI links are provided by the librarian
  • This link is to a Tool Provider: Make sure to check this setting. This is what prompts Blackboard to treat the URL as an LTI Launch Link.
  • Enable Evaluation: If you want graded content (tests and quizzes), check Yes. For ungraded content (videos and tutorials), check No. A Grade Center column will be created for any links that have evaluation enabled.
  • Points Possible: Enter a point value for graded content. Make sure to use a non-zero value.
  • Visible to Students: Yes
  • You may also set an optional due date.

Include Name, Link provided by librarian, check "This link is to a Tool Provider" and decide if you want to enable evaluation or not.

Step 4: The working link should look like this:

If you encounter any problems adding the content, contact the librarian who provided the links and they will work with you to resolve the issue.
