Resources for faculty on information literacy, library instruction and other library services.

Teaching with Research Guides (Libguides)

Librarians can create a custom research guide for your class. These guides function as a research portal for your course and its assignments and/or projects.  Research guides can include suggested resources as well as research tips to help your students succeed.

Guides can be created for class projects where students can be registered as collaborators on the guide and then they can edit and upload content to that guide. The guide can be published or remain private and also has the option of password protection.

Faculty can also create guides or request a guide where their reserves readings can be placed so students can access them with ease.

Library guides can also be created for students in a particular major with tips and resources relevant to that discipline.

Library guides can also be created for general topics.

Contact MIchael Saar (michael.saar@lamar.edu) or Karen Nichols (nicholskb@lamar.edu) to create a guide or answer any questions you may have.

In all cases the link to the library guide can be placed in Blackboard and offer students access to the tools when they need them.
