Workplace Computers (Firewalls)
Many workplaces, such as schools, have special firewalls and other security software that may block access to the library's proxy server. If you don't have administrator priveleges on your workplace computer, you will need to consult your system administrator or IT department to change the firewall settings.
In many cases, users have had success with one or more of the following simple fixes:↔
◊ Click the Refresh button
◊ Try a different browser (e.g., If you're using Firefox, try Internet Explorer)
↔
◊ Exit your browser, wait a bit, and try again. (Some databases limit the number of simultaneous users. You may be able to get in when someone else logs off.)
